Good but have reservations about making new reservations

by Nemus Law from Hong Kong, 5 Apr 07

This hotel was refurbished and recently opened. Seems like they were still smoothing out their processes. Here are my dislikes:

*No means to indicate "Do not disturb" or "Clean Room" at door. Every hotel in the world has this. Seems like small issue but maid walked right in while still sleeping on first day. Asked her to come back in one hour. Two hours later she still had not come so I had to find her. She replies it was past her work hours. Started to complain and then she complied.

*After the above incident, I called housekeeping to arrange for a 12.00pm cleaning the next day. They said no problem. Maid comes at 10.30am.

*Stayed at two different rooms. Each room had different set of amenities in bathroom. There should be consistency. No tissues or room safe in either room.

* Received phone call from reception at 6.00am. Wrong number. Then received another call at 9.30am that my cab had arrived. Wrong number again.

* Location off main road about 5 minute walk in dark alley.

Here is what I liked:

* Well-decorated rooms.
* Nice pool
* Nice staff (Except that maid, but everyone makes mistakes)
* Was told there would be a joiner fee, but no one at lobby stopped us. Maybe was lucky.

Overall, not a bad hotel but I think I will wait until they are a year in operation to hopefully work out the kinks in their processes, which I think is the reason for all my dislikes.

I might be back if you change front desk staff.

by a Thai in USA from Oklahoma, United States, 8 Jan 08

Front desk staff turned to rude after realize that I'm Thai. I asked 2-3 times about one bedroom and staff confirmed me with annoying face, but the room turned up to be two beds after all. I came down to ask the staff changed the room for me with very angry motion.

Anyway bell boy and some other staff is ok. The room should be more careful about voice design. Some room keep bang the door whole night. (Dear not complain to front desk because their motion) I have been in so many accor hotel, this all season is also good excluded front desk staff.

P.S Please do not worship foreigner that much. I also paid the same amount as foreigner to stay. For all good staff please ignore my comment.

No hesitation in returning........great value

by MARTIN NORMANTON from WALES, UK, 20 Jan 06

Spent New Year at the hotel, superb location for "entertainment"...motorbike taxi at the door. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were spacious and bathroom was clean and big....housekeeping returned when I eventually got out of bed. One downside was the breakfast was cold, but we only made it once , 5 minutes before closing (so i have no complaints about the food)

Would not hesitate in returning for Songkran

Thanks everyone for a great vacation....ONE BIG PLUS WAS THERE WAS NO SILLY SURCHARGE FOR NEW YEAR

Landscape and noise

by D. Levinson from Paris, France, 21 Jul 08

Pros:
- Very convenient location, only 5 minutes walk from the beach
- Quiet soi,
- Beautiful view (at least from the 12th and 18th floors),
- Large and comfortable room, with a tiny immaculate bathroom,
- Friendly and helpful staff.

Cons :
- This hotel receives daily loads of noisy tourists traveling in tours,
- Struggle for breakfast (do not expect to get it before 8.30 am),
- Breakfast is plenty but almost cold (who cares for cold omelet, cold beans or cold sausages ?),
- Have to walk to find any interesting restaurant,
- Small and dangerous swimming pool.

Thank you

by Justin from Tokyo, 3 Apr 07

Best hotel I have ever stayed in, clean, neat and great value for money. But it was mainly the staff, probably the best in the world, particularly one girl who has changed my life forever. She is the most intelligent, beautiful and sweetest girl on the planet, and now we are getting married next month. And although I only stayed at this hotel for a short time, it has changed my life forever!!!
