Relaxing hotel with a touch of beauty

by John Mathieson from San Francisco, Ca, 26 May 05

Beautiful Hotel in an interesting city. A tranquil setting in a not so tranquil town. The service was great and the security impeccable. I was amused at the salutes I received each morning as if I were a GI.

Spend your money somewhere else

by Anonymous user from New Jersey, 22 May 05

Hotel is at the North end of Pattaya. It’s not near anything. The rooms had no view. [We could see the parking lot.]. Staff was unwilling to re-locate us.

Breakfast was EXCELLENT. Other restaurants were no good.

OK but not excellent!

by Hauke Kahlcke from Frankfurt, Germany, 25 Oct 05

The best is the lobby and the hotel bar - very good. The Children pool was not open. The playground for the children is no western standard - it is a little bit dangerous. We have ants in our room. The breakfast is good, but the continental things never change, so the breakfast after staying one week is boring. The staff was very friendly - resume for 2,400 baht a night it was OK - but not more!

Noisy, yet isolated

by Anonymous user from Portland, OR, 15 Sep 05

This property has garden rooms which either face the busy street or the pool. I received a street-facing street one and was quickly moved to a pool-facing one. Rooms are nice and as expected for a higher end Thai property. The problem with the pool-facing room is that they play extremely loud music during their buffet dinners. Calling to complain after four hours of the din got the following response, A "we need to entertain our buffet guests". I pointed out that I could see all of 2 people at the buffet at about 9:30 p.m.

This is a tour hotel well away from the busy part of Pattaya and fairly distant from the beach. Breakfast was good. Value was received from this property, although there are better values in Thailand. Amari (Ah Mah Ree) is considered a higher end Thai chain. Service was at expected levels except for the noise issues.

I will choose it next time

by Mr.Yuval Shoshani from Bangkok/Israel, 21 Aug 05

We love this resort. However for a frequent travelers who return again and again to the same resort the management should find a way to benefit these customers by giving out vacant rooms which is better for free. The only comment I have that the rooms are small.

Great!

by Komi from Singapore, 26 Dec 05

Well, this trip was my fifth stay in Amari Pattaya within the last couple of years. Right now, there's major renovation work going on but if you think that it will drastically affect your stay there, you couldn't be more wrong! The noise pollution is kept at a minimum; it doesn't really affect anyone except those with hyper sensitive ears. The dust is well, not really that much. ;)

A little inconvenient walking around the garden but that's about it. The rooms are spotless as usual; housekeeping is excellent, with the staff being super helpful whenever you need a change of towels etc.

Food there is excellent. However, will need to mention that a certain waiter, Yalee may be polite and all but does not seem to be really sincere in his attitude to guests. He seemed to be very preoccupied with serving certain particular guests and ignoring others, which was quite a disappointment given the high service standard one would expect from Amari. Other than this particular staff, everyone in Amari is perfect.

It is near the beach and is situated in a more 'quiet' environment. There's plenty of excellent food being served in an open-with-live-band eatery named 'Green Tree' nearby. Give that a try when you stay at Amari Pattaya! Their prawns and lobsters are excellent! And really really cheap.

Great vacation staying there and would not hesitate to go back again soon. ;)

Nice vacation again in Pattaya

by Karlheinz Billmann from Essen, Germany, 17 Oct 05

In 1999 I came on a business trip and was amazed by the in-house arrangements and the very pleasant attitudes by all staff of the different disciplines. This then lead to my annual visits of the Amari Orchid here.

I have always been treated that nicely and efficient that i highly recommend that place to other visitors and/or holiday tourists.

We will return

by Brennan family from england, 17 Jan 08

My daughter and I stayed twice at the fabulous tower block in the duplex suite on the twentieth floor, over the Christmas holiday 2007. The service was outstanding, the staff from housekeeping to management were perfect, any little problems were dealt with swiftly, we had such a good feeling about this place and the staff that we cannot wait to return, hopefully very soon. Thank you Amari for making it a xmas and new year we will always remember.

Over Priced

by Anonymous User from Scotland, 13 May 08

Renovations going on and noisy, room had a view of work men and scaffolding! I had to pay 18,000 baht when I arrived, in case of any extras! I asked what extras, but staff could not explain, when I left I was lumbered with 18,000 baht. Atmosphere at hotel not good, not worth the money, I would not use this hotel again.
