First class

by Anonymous User from Northern Ireland, 9 Oct 08

Stayed here for 17 nights myself and wife ... great time was had by us both. We have been to Pattaya now three times and wish we had found this hotel sooner. Will we be back? ... you better believe it, we are booking it again for three weeks in may.

In a nutshell this hotel is first class, staff always wiling to help and always smiling ... there is a bit of building work going on behind main pool but nothing to upset your holiday. In closing let me say to anyone going to Pattaya and looking a good hotel, this is the one to book.

"ARECA" Gold! Gold! Gold!

by GREG FAUX from GLENFIELD -SYDNEY- AUSTRALIA, 18 Aug 08

When they yelled eureka when they found gold. It was because they could not contain their excitement, well I can not contain mine.

I can now yell Areca I've found gold, this hotel has it all, price, comfort, decor, service and staff who are forever tending to your every need. We spent twelve unbelievable nights and are due back here next April, the four of us were spoilt and on our return there will be eight . I can assuredly confirm that this hotel will be the place that we will be holidaying always.

Excellent hotel and good value of money

by Harri Laine from Finland, 17 Jul 08

This was my second time in Areca Lodge hotel Pattaya (June-July 2008). Hotel staff are really helpful and service fast and very friendly.

Location is excellent in heart of Pattaya. Hotel have 2 good swimming pools maybe a little construction noise in Corona wing pool but I hardly noticed that. Very good breakfast and cosy atmosphere and clean room, i really like.

I recommend this hotel to everyone its good value for money and maybe the best what Pattaya can offer for this price range.

Home from home

Second time we have stayed there and the staff still knew us from our first stay. Service great. Booking though AtSiam very easy and no problems or waiting when we got there. Hope to be back next year.

Mongers Delight

by Stephen Michael Cotton from Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom, 15 Jun 08

Usual high standard for the price.Minor complaint about heavy construction going on but as it is an extension to the hotel and will make it easier to get in you cannot complain too much.

Best hotel in pattaya

by Jos en Rietje from 's-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, 14 Jun 08

We've stayed in the Areca Lodge for the last two years, it's a very good hotel with a very friendly staff. Large and clean rooms. Good breakfast. Two nice and clean pools. Next month we stay there again and we know it will be a very nice holiday. (I come fore over 19 years in Pattaya, but this is the best hotel I've ever had )

I will return

by gary tidswell from new south wales, Australia, 6 Jun 08

I liked my stay at Areca Lodge the staff were great, the breakfast was great, the location was handy. It was a relaxing holiday. I thought the construction site was going to be a problem but it was hardly an inconvenience. It was value for what I received.

When I come back to Thailand I'd like to stay at Areca Lodge again.

Go back soon!

by Thomas Wieland from Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, 23 May 08

Location is very well. Good connection to every point. Laundry and 7-eleven about 50m away. I would say best breakfast in town. I stayed there for the third time and I'll book again as soon as possible. Many of the guests come regular. Staff is friendly and helpful.

STILL GREAT

by michael russell from Shropshire, United Kingdom, 6 May 08

Still a great hotel for the money, just stayed for our third Songkran at the hotel and the staff are as friendly as ever.

Only problem at the moment is the hotel are building an extension so there is building noise and a crane in use at present, due to be completed next April, but it didnt spoil our stay will be going back again.

Could be so much better

by Alistair from London, United Kingdom, 16 Mar 08

This hotel could be so much better. It is located down an unsigned Soi where there are many girlie bars, laundries, and farang [foreign] eateries. As such it is an oasis in a soi of tat.

However, they have some strange policies. One is that you have to obtain a breakfast coupon from reception each morning. You surrender this to the female 'guard' at the entrance to the breakfast room. Very odd!!

There is a sign on the front of the room fridge saying two bottles of water are free each day. That's a common practice in Thailand. However, in this hotel there are two different types of water in the fridge and no indication as to which one is free. On the first day I took the 'wrong' type and I was called to reception to sign for the 30 baht [about 50p in UK money] charge. When I objected, for the reasons above, they raised an enormous fuss as if I was trying to steal a huge sum of money. What is worth more....30 baht or a customer's goodwill ?

This hotel also has an age limit for joiners in that they must be 20 years old or above. It was very embarrassing when my guest was refused entry as my joiner was 'only' 19!!
