Not Recommended hotel

by Lucy from Singapore, 14 Aug 07

The hotel location is too remote ... The travel agency in the hotel is bad, their charges are too high. Agency staff not friendly at all.

Trying hard to recommend us to go a jewelry shop which suppose to save our expenses on booking cab, but end up when we called the cab in street and after negotiation, paid much less.

When we didn't take up their offer in the end, the face she showed to us make me feel uncomfortable.

I was there on 1-July-2007 and checked out on 2nd-July-2007.

Asia Pattays - The four star that sets a shining example

by Miss Stephanie Wood from England, United Kingdom, 28 Mar 07

Having visited Pattaya each year for over 15 years, I have often come back to stay at the Asia Pattaya Beach Hotel.

Five years ago the hotel was pleasant, the staff friendly and the facilities and amenities good but since the recent refurbishment of the entire hotel, there is a great improvement. The rooms are now very smart and look a lot more refreshed and therefore cleaner. The gardens have been perfectly manicured and are mainted throughout the year so you can capture some stunning photos there both during the day and at night when they light up the gardens and pool with thousands of fairy lights attached to trees and plants.

The private beach is both clean and welcoming with a number of water sports and on beach activities available including Thai massage, manicures, pedicures, hair braiding and you can even shops and restaurants.

The pool is kept clean and maintained and there are plenty of sun beds.

A two minute walk from the hotel and there are some lovely privately owned bars and restaurants where you can get a superb meal for well under ?5.

There are also always taxi's waiting to take you to the town centre for roughly about ?2

Overall, I would say this hotel certainly now deserves its four star status.

For travellers on a budget, you get great value for money without feeling you are compromising on anything.

I return here year after year and am yet to be disappointed.

Avoid or you could be ill and hospitalised like me

by paul from england, 10 Mar 07

Have stayed here for over 15 years. This last time Dec 06 to Mar07 will be the last. The rooms are filthy and come with bugs in beds. One working vacuum cleaner for this amount of rooms is very poor. Rats are another problem. Rats are vermin, they carry disease and fleas. In this hotel they have appeared in rooms thru holes where wiring comes thru. Complain to the management and fair enough they will block the holes eventually but they allow the rats to live behind the air condition panels to spread their disease floors 4, 5, 6, are overrun with rats.

Very noticeable this holiday was the amount of guests who became very ill whilst staying here. Two old ladies caught 8 rats in their room on sticky traps that they insisted on having and which the management reluctantly let them have.

This hotel for the last 3 years that I know of has an in house thief who as well as money from locked safes will also steal camera's, printers anything of value including tablets. Whilst the general manager knows about this he will not call the police as he doesn't want a reputation for the hotel.

The air condition in the guest rooms have been preset on a master control elsewhere at 24 so you do not have the control that you have paid for. This has been done by the g.m. to save money. Its quite possible that this could be the cause of all the illness because whereas before it kept the bacteria and disease at bay it now is doing the opposite and breeding the bugs, fleas and the disease.

Bedding often smells of sweaty feet or cig smoke as it has not been washed obviously to save money at guest expense. I've run out of space.

Nice View

by Anonymous User, 3 Jan 07

Not the best place around Pattaya, but not the worst either. The hotel has a very nice beach view and a decent swimming pool/lounge area. As previously stated, the security is a bit too much.

Basic Shelter

by Lionel Henderson from Sacramento, CA, 17 Dec 06

Meets basic shelter requirement. Staff uninformed and not helpful. Restaurant serves something similar to food.

High security 24 hours per day. But emphasis seemed to be harassing guests instead of protecting them.

If you only want a bed and a roof over your head, this is OK. If you want anything more, you will not be happy with Asia Pattaya Hotel.

Camp Pattaya

by Kevin Heylin from Sacramento, CA, 17 Dec 06

It was like living at a concentration camp. Don't try bringing a lady to your room, you'll either be stopped at the elevator or by the 3 people camped out on each floor. It was the most uncomfortable situation I have ever been in.

by Geir Nygaard-Andersen from Norway, 16 Dec 06

I stay many times at Asia Hotel Bangkok , and I like Asia Hotel group, good staff. Good room and outside Pattaya. It is difficult to get to the beach. Service very good. Price also very good for a hotel in this standard.

Back Again????

by Terry Collis from England, United kingdom, 15 Jun 06

Excellent hotel. Have stayed many times at this hotel and others in Pattaya but I always come back to the ASIA Beach. When in Thailand I see this as my home and I am always glad to be back.

This trip in June 2006 will be my second in 9 months and I have stayed at the ASIA both times plus in 1990,1998,2000,2002,2004. I cannot wait to get back and see all my old FRIENDS among the staff.

It was an excellent hotel for me and my wife on our honeymoon 1 year. We liked the garden and the beach and food - it was very good and clean and variable.
