Clean room, adequately met needs.

by Roy from London, United Kingdom, 6 May 08

Some of the staff, particularly in the Restaurant were really, really helpful and very friendly. Other members of staff, particularly on reception were cold and unhelpful.

The rooms large and spotless and very comfortable.

The gym, spa and sauna was basic, but perfectly adequate.

Breakfast was poor, despite an extensive lunch/dinner menu. The hotel is bang in the middle of Pattaya with easy access to shopping, restaurants and bars. If you looking for a quiet and relaxing environment, this is definitely not the place for you!

This is a superb hotel...thoroughly enjoyed my stay!!!

by Mr P. from Uk., 27 May 05

Just spent 10 glorious nights there, can't fault the place... will definitely stay there every year now. Checked out all the other top hotels like Hard rock, Marriott etc but they don't compare to the Lk. Highly recommend this place.

I will be back on my next stay this year.

by Geir Kristiansen from Norway, 3 Jul 05

Spent four weeks in a Superior room, very nice stay. At that time (February 05) the hotel was not finished and construction went on at day time. But who cares, my visit to Pattaya was not about to sitting in a hotel room at day time. The management and staff were friendly and service minded, on the negative side the hotel let in to many “bar girls”. Big surprise of an upscale place like this.

Poorly sound proofed doors. I will be back for sure, may be in August this year. You can’t go wrong on this, my best recommendation.

Good hotel

by Anonymous user, 3 Aug 05

Just got back to England after 2 weeks at the Metropole. I have to say the place was great. I had a deluxe suite and it was lovely, although I do recommend you ask for a pool facing room as the rooms towards the back just don't cut it with the same views.

I had my birthday during my stay, and to my surprise I had a knock on the door and in walked six staff singing happy birthday to me and produced a lovely birthday cake, staff were great. I have friends living in Pattaya and they recommended this hotel, and so do I.

Reward your holiday

by Tiny from Sweden, 1 Sep 05

Such a paradise in the city!!!! Nothing to say only they do the best job. Rooms are so convenience and designed difference from others hotel I'd been before. Staff are very welcome even it's not a five star hotel but I feel like it. Let 's try sometime.

Aggravating problems

by Unhappy from San Francisco, CA, 14 Sep 05

All show and little substance.

There are persistent problems with this place: hot water is inconsistent due to the design of the electric water heaters in the bathrooms. Frequently, taking a shower, the hot water stops and you get a cold shower for a minute or so, then it starts again. This is a problem with the pressure flow from the instant hot heater. Any change to the water temperature (such as adding cool water to reduce the heat) will cause the hot water to stop. I have talked to many residents who have the same problem.

Second problem is that the bathtub is tilted towards the bath floor, so any water that hits the tub edges while you shower ends up on the bathroom floor, leaving a large puddle that you have to sit in for the next few hours if you use the toilet.

Thirdly, the wooden floors that look very nice, but the way, are impossible for the cleaners to clean, so you end up with blackened, dirty feet, if you walk barefooted in the room.

Fourthly, they do not clean the terraces, so if you walk outside, and return inside, the floors are dirtied even more.

I expect more for the price.

I have repeatedly asked the management for resolution to these problems, but have given up.

Smart Hotel

by William Fenton from UK, 23 Sep 05

No room service menu and little obvious tourist information to see. Rooms made up quite late. However rooms are very good and clean.

Nice swimming pool and business centre. Free fruit and tea coffee in the lounge. Some quests are on long stay.

Surroundings quite quiet yet near town life.

Long stay apartments

by Anonymous User from UK, 20 Dec 05

Stayed there earlier this year before if was complete. Good value for money. Booked a suite for 6 months in January.

This is not really a hotel it is more a long term stay, although they do rent by the day, week , month or year. If you are on a short term holiday not a place I would recommend.
