Returning for the third time

by C. Blackburn from American visiting from Doha, Qatar, 15 Jun 08

I have stayed here twice during the past 4 years. Just booked another 2 week holiday next month. Summertime rates are great value. Both times I've had the one bedroom apartment which is great - very spacious, nice balconies, big baths. Kitchen is nice. Decor in rooms is just remarkable, a traditional Thai theme. Good Cable TV. Pool is minimal, but beach is only a short walk.

Transportation to the shopping and party districts readily available on main street next to the beach. Scenic walk along the beach with good restaurants. Nicer and quieter than in Pattaya, better for families or couples. Area is rebuilding/renovating. Don't stay on ground floor at street level; no elevator so a little exercise is required. Staff has always been very cooperative and helpful. Very clean place too.

Never go back

by STEPHEN CHETWYN from UK, 28 Apr 08

Stepped in the renovated couture rooms which are basically tiny box like rooms, no windows, no wardrobe just a bar to hang your clothes.

Shower is terrible if you use it for more than few minutes it floods the bathroom and you cannot use the bathroom for 24 hours ... safe in room but does not work. There is a nice bed, nice linen, but the bedrooms are the smallest I've ever been in.

I would not stop here again and also it is out of the main area for night life, and only way to get into the main resort is by motorbike taxis who charge you £1.50
The swimming pool is nice thats all i can say..

Poor value for money if I ever stopped again would pay for the better part of the hotel as the part I stayed in was terrible and was glad to get away from the place.

No thanks !!

by Marc from United Kingdom,London, 25 Feb 08

Good :Great rooms , great food

Bad : The pool next to a road, pics of naked women in the reception toilets ???? Where there are families with kids ??? Noise next to the pool, the whole front of the hotel is full with sold condos to the whole gay community of the area, they are not painted & its just awful

The Ugly: Receptionists are rude, prices of the goods inside the fridge are sky high even for a hotel.

Another great stay

by Simon Day from Derbyshire, United Kingdom, 8 Dec 07

Once again another totally trouble free stay at the Nirvana. I really can't fault the hotel or staff. They are now extending into the building next door and calling it Nirvana Couture with 32 inch LCD TV screens in every room with rooms starting at only 1,100 THB.

You cannot beat this place for the price.

by David from USA, 25 Nov 07

I was here in 2005 and now I see the place is much the same as before: excellent. I tried a move up this time by staying in a deluxe studio. I think it is worth the extra money if you have more than one person, but for one, it is a waste of money.

The rooms are so nice here. For the money, you can't beat it. The ambiance and decor is superb.

The good: kitchen, a/c, bed, decor, location

The bad: tv reception fuzzy, wifi slow

I did have a bad experience on my first night. I was given a ground floor room on the corner. Two no-no's at this place!! On the ground floor you cannot open your curtain because people will look in. It is also a bit noisy at night. I requested and was granted, a room on a higher floor and enjoyed myself like the first time I was here.

You cannot beat this place for the price.

Poor staff

by Yau Tsz Ling from HK, 26 Jun 07

The staff there not smile at all, they always with the angry face. This make me think that they are unhelpful. Also when I ask to change room because of ants, they pretend didn't understand English. Accept the staffs, the accommodation is quite comfortable and the room is big.

DONT GO !!!!!!

by Martyn Jones from Uk-London, 9 Jun 07

Dislike the fact that these people never worked in tourism before 2 who in the right mind would put pictures of naked women in the reception area of a hotel with families and children there (this got me puzzled )? Pool way too small and noisy -theres a road NEXT to the pool pleaseeeee get this sorted how can u possibly rest in this being a tourist?

Last ....the front of the hotel ????empty condos and some already sold that belong to the gay community of Jomtien -most of them -the ones not sold are not painted, it was awful to wake up every morning to this -really bad ;-{ u just loose the holiday feeling.

Will be back

by CHRISTOPHER ALEXANDER from MALAYSIA, 24 Jan 07

Excellent stay here, the best for Jomtien beach. Food was easy ,many good restaurants and the beach excellent. The hotel staff very helpful and courteous the only problem I think is the narrow road to the hotel. Otherwise highly recommended.
