A very good hotel in Pattaya

by Georgina from Hungary, 9 Dec 05

The hotel is located in a good area with plenty of bars and restaurants though the nearby beach is quite dirty. I would recommend taking a taxi to the close by Jomtien beach.

The hotel was clean, rooms are big and convenient, breakfast is plenty and various. It is definitely a good value for its price especially comparing it to Phuket or Koh Samet.

Pattaya is a nice place for having fun though I would not recommend it for families with children.

Passing grade enough

by 卓 from TOKYO, Japan, 3 Jan 08

Always there in the number of beds of pools and it is always always anxious that it is full though the staff can have good feeling in the friendly ..dislike.. correspondence. If it is this price, it is a bad point that the hydraulic pressure of the shower (volume of water) is a little though it is the indoor beauty and a passing grade being equipped.

If it is a mid/long-term stay, I will use it again. The chip (pillow money) doesn't occur especially, and Thailand is basically ..chip.. ? though thought if it is a hotel of 3,000B or more.

Siam Sawasdee Hotel? An OK option for this level of prices

by Tomer Ginel from Australia, 18 Feb 06

G'day, fun-loving mates! Spent a couple of nights in this hotel during Xmas. Keep you expectations low and you won't get disappointed. Having said that, it's not a bad option for this level of prices.

Staff OK, but not the best service one can get in Thailand. I booked a double room with breakfast. The hotel is Guest Friendly and no fee is charged for it.

However, they asked for additional charge for breakfast for the lady, even though I had paid for a double room with breakfast for two. Didn't insist, though.

All in all, not bad value for your money.

May not re-book

by Stephen Smith from Bolton, LANCS, ENGLAND, 1 May 06

My second visit to this hotel and sorry to say standards have fallen slightly. Check-in/check-out & Reception always helpful and efficient. However the swimming pool filtration system didn't appear to be on which left the water not very clean.

The room cleaning/make-up service was missed one day and on 2/3 occasions I was left without a bath mat which could be dangerous as the floors are tiled and can be very slippy when exiting the shower with wet feet.

As I had expected

by Anonymous user, 29 May 05

Stayed two days at the Siam Sawasdee hotel may 2005. The rooms were clean and bathrooms were ok as well and for the money it was not a bad experience. The location is about a 10-20 minutes taxi ride to the beach but there are plenty of bars and restaurants close by.

The staff were friendly enough and were helpful - although it does help if you know Thai. The restaurant was functional and decent value. Also the place is "guest friendly". All in all I think for the price - about $10/night it was what I expected and it was fine for my short stay.

Well' for pattaya.....!

by Jrgen LUGER, from Vienna, 24 May 05

I spend two times in this hotel, and I think for the 600 Baht class it's ok. The room was cleaned every day, towels changed too.., the location is good between day beach and night venus...!

The service is ok and if you try to sleep not alone, there is no problem! The breakfast I don't use, because i sleep to long, and it's easy to find some outside. Finally for just sleep inside and enjoy outside the Hotel is right good.

Pattaya, lively and mad

by Paul Peatson from London, 20 Feb 06

The location was good, with plenty of bars & restaurants locally. The food was OK.

If you had a room at the front of the hotel it was noisy all night because of the bars, however I asked to be moved to the back and that was not a problem.

The rooms were very basic but functional. The pool was the best of any of the hotels that I stayed at in Thailand and the service at the pool bar was good.

Cheap but you get no more than you pay for.

by David from Plymouth England, 11 May 07

The hotel credit card machine would not accept my four UK chip & pin credit and debit cards, I had to pay with cash. Rooms can be noisy until 1.00 a.m. from nearby businesses. I booked and pre-paid for one deluxe twin room which was not available. I had to make do with a poor double room with an extra fold up single bed wheeled in later.

The bathroom was poor. The electric shower hardly had any effect on the water temperature. The wash basin was actually inside the shower cubicle and only had a cold water tap.

The breakfast was okay and the restaurant food reasonably priced but not a large selection. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The front desk staff had a difficult job satisfying the needs of guests but coped very well. A small swimming pool. Very little car parking available. You get no more than you pay for. In house laundry expensive. Lots of International TV channels for couch potato.

Won't go back

by paul from scotland, 24 Jan 07

Stayed here for 7 days in Jan 2007 wasn't what I seen on the website room was a let down. Had to tell the maid to strip the sheets & make up a new bed.

Very basic room the location was pretty good not to noisy at night. Breakfast was ok. Most of the staff had a face that would've sank a battleship! Not very cheerful at all. Wouldn't stay here again.
