Rabbit Resort Pattaya

We have stayed at the Rabbit Resort in Jomtien (Pattaya) last winter after a cultural tour in Thailand. Originally we would be going to Phuket, but with the tsunami plans had been changed.
Although we regretted this, we had a marvelous stay at the Rabbit Resort. The place is so beautiful and Deborah and her staff are so nice and helpful! The resort is really right at the beach, even without a road or so between it. It also is very quiet since no traffic is allowed.

We have been staying in one of the villas (405-406) that take up to 6 people, but we were only four. Our friends from the same tour have been staying very close by in house 505/506. This house had a typical Thai pavilion in the garden, which was such a nice place to sit at night. It was the only house to have this. We were very lucky that we could share this luxury with them and basically we stayed in the pavilion 4 nights rather than going out. We even had dinner there three times (from room service) for an almost ridiculously low price. This house also had beautiful lighting in the garden. Also inside was very special, certainly upstairs, where there was a beautiful cathedral ceiling and very fine Thai woodwork. When we asked why it was so much nicer than the other houses – although these are very nice too - we learned that it was privately owned, but rented out when the owners were not there, so I am not sure if you can book it all the time. At the reception they called it the sala house (sala is Thai for the pavilion).

Anyhow our house was very nicely decorated too. The houses are also very practical since most have a small kitchen.

There are two pools, a blue one and a green one. Everywhere there are very high and old palm trees that give the place a very special look. Also the gardens are very well kept. Many houses and rooms have some private garden, rather smallish, except the one of this 'sala house'.

The resort is right on the beach. If you want to go somewhere you have to walk like 5 minutes along the beach, but that was no problem at all.

Overall we were very much pleased with our Thai experience and hope to come back next winter to visit Phuket and stay at the Rabbit resort for at least one week afterwards.
