Motive Cottage Resort Khaolak Phang-Nga

I didn't actually stay at Motive Cottage, but I checked out the place and was pretty impressed by the rooms and 'tatami area' looking out to the pool, which is really nice. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. The best part is it's located near the 'Monday, wed, sat market', so getting cheap local food is very convenient! Besides, there's a mini-mart located just right beside it! I will definitely stay at this resort the next time I'm in Khao Lak.

Likes: Reasonable rates, hotel design and rooms have character, cosy room (with tatami!), good facilities re: Thai massage, hair salon, swimming pool, restaurant, mini mart, beach mat.

Dislikes: Poor sound insulation (ask for top floor!), generally poor English (Thai dictionary will be useful), costly airport transfer.

Comments: Quiet place to relax. 15 mins walk to beach. Pretty laid back at night, hop on a taxi to nearby Khao Lak (abt THB30 each). Good/cheap local Thai food just opp hotel to the right. Could be more transparent with airport transfer (most hotels arrange it complimentary).
