Our Baan Karonburi
by giacomo porreca from milano, Italy, 24 Mar 08
We had already been in Baan Karonburi hotel several times in the last years, but it is always a pleasure to come back! It is a quiet, clean and comfortable small hotel just in front of a nice beach, and we will surely go back there if we will find ourselves in Karon...

Missing Towel
by Anonymous User from Malaysia, 17 Jan 07
Location was good. We hired a car for the whole trip so moving around was not a problem at all. Beach across the road and restaurant was right in front of the hotel so you can have breakfast with a view to the beach.
Had a very bad experience when checking out when they accused us of losing their towel when in fact they did not replenish the towel after taking the dirty one out. Tried explaining to them and the manager, one lady, said if we don't pay they will call the police. To cut a long story short, didn't want to further argue with them and spoil the rest of our stay in Phuket, we paid the 500bath for the "lost" towel and left to our next destination.
Conclusion:- location - good, hotel - okay, manager - untactful ... if you plan to stay in this place, keep check of the towels in the room at all times.

Not returning
by dys from Singapore, 1 Dec 06
We booked a Superior room at Baan Karonburi for 3 nights in November 2006. It is located right opposite a quiet and pleasant stretch of beach in Karon and traveling time to Patong and Kata is about 15-20 mins each. We took a metered taxi at the airport for 460 Baht and the ride took approximately 45 mins.
The hotel looks ok from the exterior but inside we found it to be quite old. The new hotel right next door seemed more attractive. The bed in our room was slightly uncomfortable and our 2nd floor garden view was marred by a giant tree right next to our balcony. The layout of the room is slightly odd, there is no "doorway" hence 1 side of the bed faces the door directly. Also, there were only 6 satellite TV channels, including Thai, German, French and Japanese channels, and that leaves us with just 2 to choose from.
Breakfast was mediocre. They could improve on the variety, as well as staff service. The waitresses were indifferent and 1 lady was downright rude. However we noticed that they were all very friendly to European guests. I wouldn't return to this hotel in my next visit.

Clean and Quiet
by avi from Iran, 14 Jun 06
I stayed in Karonburi in June, on 4th floor you have a very nice view of sea, (room 405), it has a very nice quiet swimming pool that I was the only one in the hotel using it, it’s so close to the beach, the breakfast is very nice, very clean rooms, and it’s excellent for the price you pay (low season price), I really had a great time there.
But if you are a honeymoon maker or you are looking for some where luxurious you can go for more expensive hotels in Kata beach. And another problem is the TUK TUK price to Patong , it’s about 250 BHT, so if you are looking for a crowded place you better check hotels at Patong.

Baan Karonburi Resort
by unikum_de from Germany/Thailand, 26 May 06
We were there in February 2006. It's a very nice hotel and nice staffs.
Sea view on the third and fourth floor. The best sea view could be seen from the rooms 301-305 and 401-405
