The other side of Phuket!
by Camille from Netherlands, 19 Apr 08
In the south of Phuket, a bit isolated, lies this resort on a hill looking over the Andaman Sea. It gave us the feeling "This is how Phuket was before all tourists came here". Although isolated, the hotel has a free transfer to Nai Harn Beach/Village each morning and pickup in the afternoon.
Nothing to complain about this resort, nice people, good service, nice surroundings & accommodation. Maybe only thing was the food. It was not that bad but during our 3 weeks stay in Thailand this was one of the least. They did to many concessions to the Western way of cooking.

Perfect hideaway
by Claudia Prutti from Linz, Austria Europe, 20 Mar 06
If you are looking for a quiet place just to relax this is the place! Very friendly staff, spotless, beautiful bungalows and very quiet location. Great snorkeling
directly at the small cosy beach.
The food at the restaurant could be better and with more real fish dishes on the menu.
My suggestion to the hotel - also a shuttle back from the Nai Harn beach to the hotel - the taxis charge very high prices (150 baht) for a 5 minute drive! And a library with used books from and for the guests.

Recommend for couples with own transport
by Anna from Queensland, 24 Aug 06
I am glad to see that bookings are closed now as the renovations are major affecting all of the resort. When they are finished it should be really beautiful.
My husband and I loved it but my teenage children hated it as it is too far from all the action and shopping. We moved the kids to a more central resort and enjoyed a few days alone there. We hired a motorscooter so location was no problem for us. Not far from rawai beach which has heaps of seafood and boat hire to go to any of the island. We hired a longtail boat for 1000bht to coral island for snorkling. The driver waits until you are ready to come back and pay him on return. Go with more people to share the cost.
I agree with the previous review about the resturant. the menu was a bit boring.
There was a shuttle at 10am and 4pm but they should have one every half hour as it is only a few minutes drive but too far to walk.
Not a family resort but great for us oldies.

Hope to see you next year
by ALES KOPAC from SLOVENIA, LJUBLJANA, 23 Apr 07
I have been many times near this place before (Ao Sane) but the only thing what really disturbed me this year was SEA WATER (IT WAS VERY DIRTY ALONG THE BEACH AND MANY USED PLASTIC BAGS IN THE SEA) you should think about some other alternatives where to relise dirty watter...or was some other reason...

Beautiful Resort, Terrible Location
by Fiona from Ireland, 8 Jan 08
The resort itself was lovely, really nice luxury huts but the resort is dead by 9.30 at night. There is no bar. It was full of French people that were in bed by 10.00pm. No nearby nightlife, and I don't even mean nigh clubs, I mean no bars.
To get to this resort you have to go through the car park of the Meridian and up along a pitch black dirt road. Walking at night is dangerous. We spent a fortune on taxi's. Would be lovely for a honeymoon couple who just wanted to sunbathe and spend time in their room. Anyone looking to socialize avoid.
