Very Disappointed

by Regular traveller to Thailand from Australia, 26 Sep 05

I would agree totally with a previous review, the one of Marg and Tom. The staff need some serious training and the rooms although looking quite nice are not cleaned well daily and they are not stocked correctly and you have to ask repeatedly for stocks to be supplied. If you have a major problem as we did you will be stuffed around unbelievable and you will not be compensated for the problems. Staff are not capable and need to refer ever decision to the hotel manager.

The resort itself looks lovely and is very nice looking but that is about the extent of it. As it is not that old a hotel that would account for its appearance but it is a false facade. The breakfast are very very basic and if you are not there within 40 minutes of its conclusion then you better not expect much.

The only thing good was the fact that the place was relatively cheap but that a side I have stayed in many hotels throughout Thailand and this one would have to be the worst one with regards to service and amenities I have stayed in.

I would go back but only if I was desperately economising and was wanting to stay a little away from the main areas of Patong.

The WORST SERVICE in the world!!!

by Jaymee Ilagan from Sydney, 10 Feb 06

The place is stunning...........

but.

Behind the beautiful facade lies a lurking horror.

everything looks very nice but we were booked into an unmade room, where the please make up room sign was still on the door, the fridge had been left open for the purpose of defrosting, water was all over the floor. Inside the fridge was a manky old filthy sopping wet thing of a towel. When we requested the room to be fixed the front desk offered no apology, the lady said she would send someone up to the room to fix the problem. The maid came and took the dirty old wet towel out of the fridge and proceeded to mop the floor with it and then left. The floor was still dirty and wet. we rang again, the lady at front desk laughed we requested to speak to the manager, they refused, they said they would send someone up again and no one came.

next

on checking out we left something in the safe. When we got to our next destination in phi phi island village resort and spa (SUPERB) we rang the one of the managers of Deevana and told him our situation. He was uncooperative as he said people had already been booked into that room. After much insistence on our end he relented and said he would ring back in five minutes. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. Forty minutes later we rang him to find out what was happening. He said the maid had left and they were waiting for her to get home to see if she had found it. But why wouldn't she give it to front desk? We asked if he would check the room but he refused as he said people were already checked in. Most people in this situation would not have a problem with the manager checking the safe as long as the situation is explained. He said he would call back. He called back soon after and explained that the checked the room as the current guests had left the room. This is a shocking practice for a hotel to enter someones room without their permission and I imagine quite illegal. Once the manager had pulled the item illegally from the room he said he would send the item that day. This did not happen. His explanation - "I forgot".

We would never go back there!

by Lorin Kim Staats from Milwaukee, WI, 8 Mar 07

Both the rooms we rented were filled with mosquitoes! There was no screen over the bathroom vent, so no matter how many we killed they just kept coming into the room. We complained to the front desk, but they took all day to respond. Their service was poor.

There was one pool that was clean and nice in the new section of the hotel, but in the old area the pool was dirty.

We would never go back there!

Impress patong

by Benjamas Chuachai from Bangkok, 23 May 05

I like the location, clean and rate. Hope will go to visit again and will let my friends know about your hotel but in something I don't like such as in the fitness centre don't have music, water, don't turn on the air condition or fan just open air and breakfast should expand time to 11.00am like mostly hotels in the world.

Definitely not again !

by Lam Fung Luen Rita from Hong Kong, 23 Jan 06

Staff was not helpful and unfriendly. I booked 3 rooms, they arranged the 3rd room on a different floor despite our objection and appeal. Seemed under staffed, they were busy on other stuff and preoccupied.

Swimming pool was dirty. Check-out was a nightmare, need to wait for 20 minutes to bring down the luggage to lobby.

Hard Mattress, Lumpy Pillow

by Brian Charles Reynolds from Brisbane, Australia, 13 Aug 06

Beds in the spa wing with a jacuzzi was rather firm. Pillows were lumpy. If they can replace their pillows with firmer foam filled pillows, it would be a significant improvement.

Service was excellent.

hmmm better stay with other hotel

by Thanet P from Bangkok, 18 Apr 07

I stayed in Garden view which i found out that it is very old, smelly and a lot of mosquito. Location is a little off center from shopping area on Patong beach. But the new part of the hotel which are jacuzzi and spa wing is look nice but the price is too high.

Laguage barrier can be a problem at your expense

by Annonymous User from Victoria, Australia, 19 Jul 07

We had a ball in Thailand, the beach wasn't the clear blue as expected but the islands were and picture perfect.

ROOM MIX UP...
-------------------
As far as the hotel we requested a 2 room suite which were interconnecting and one with double bed and other with 3 singles before departure. When we arrive we received 2 single beds in one room and another room a couple of rooms up with two single beds.. we were very unhappy because we have two young children ... look what happen with maddie from Engand. We also requested another room close by with a double bed. We got two single beds in a room the other side of the resort for our friends. It was finally sorted out the next day but wasn't a good start to a family holiday.

THE POOL
-------------------
The pool fabulous! in it every day and was cleaned every day. Our bar attender was awesome with the kids... they all hung off him! (felt a little sorry for him actually)

THE FOOD
-------------------
The breakfast was beautiful ... don't think I ate the same thing once there was so much to choose from! the food at the pool bar was yummy especially the chips...

TUK TUK
-------------------
Expect to pay about 150 baht for a tuk tuk on the way to the markets and 200 on the way back .. They have one way roads!

THE BILLS
-------------------
When we were checking out our bills were mixed up due to the room swap. we fixed up the bills but they had added a few extra drinks on ours which were meant to be free with the meals. IT TOOK 4 PEOPLE TO WORK OUT AND STILL NOTHING WAS DONE! we walked out disappointed and payed for the extra drinks.

TOURS
-------------------
MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT BOOK TOURS THROUGH THE HOTEL!!! we did that mistake and paid full price the next tour we went on to the street for and got it for half price! we are talking $50 dollars less a person here!!!

Pleasant stay, good food. A bit busy at breakfast if not early. Room spas quite cold if out of direct sunlight. Room kept clean and tidy. It's very relaxing trip. Would stay again.

Good Value !

by RIC HU from Singapore, 23 Jun 05

Just returned from Phuket. Stayed at Deevana Spa. Although the hotel is a bit off the centre of activities, I would give it a good 4-star for service & cleanliness. I will definitely go again!
