Very Disappointed

by Regular traveller to Thailand from Australia, 26 Sep 05

I would agree totally with a previous review, the one of Marg and Tom. The staff need some serious training and the rooms although looking quite nice are not cleaned well daily and they are not stocked correctly and you have to ask repeatedly for stocks to be supplied. If you have a major problem as we did you will be stuffed around unbelievable and you will not be compensated for the problems. Staff are not capable and need to refer ever decision to the hotel manager.

The resort itself looks lovely and is very nice looking but that is about the extent of it. As it is not that old a hotel that would account for its appearance but it is a false facade. The breakfast are very very basic and if you are not there within 40 minutes of its conclusion then you better not expect much.

The only thing good was the fact that the place was relatively cheap but that a side I have stayed in many hotels throughout Thailand and this one would have to be the worst one with regards to service and amenities I have stayed in.

I would go back but only if I was desperately economising and was wanting to stay a little away from the main areas of Patong.

Our Holiday Heaven

by Nadya from Singapore, 27 Sep 05

I had my vacation with my two other girlfriends in Phuket and it's our first time to Phuket and we know nuts about the place, but, I decided to book this resort cause of the good reviews and it's affordable.

However, when we actually stayed there, we were more than happy. Our room was the Deluxe Triple with private jacuzzi pool. The resort looks very clean, well maintained, equipped and very nice ambiance with palm trees and excellent layout. We spent most of our time in the resort, especially in our room, we soak our self most of the time in our own private jacuzzi, got our self drunk and we had lots of fun.

The staff and service were exceptional. The staff at the pool area were very friendly, they played games with us in the games room and served us cocktails, we were treated like princess. The best part is, each time they see us, they would greet and address us by our names. Deevana staff are very helpful and efficient. It's a good location too, 7-11 just round the corner, food stalls, pharmacys, money changer and especially the beach, all walking distance.

I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone coz it's so affordable and satisfying. It's a three star resort and yet you feel like you are in a five star resort. Good work Deevana, keep it up!

Highly Recommend

by Lai Ka Man Carman from Hong Kong, 14 Nov 05

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, all the staffs there are very nice and helpful, the room is beautiful. I liked the jacuzzi in my room, and I liked the pool side bar, so I can drink the beer and swimming, so relax, highly recommend. I will go back to this hotel again next year.

Convenient, central with good facilities.

by Edward D Leong from Brisbane, Australia, 18 Nov 05

Very conveniently located and excellent value for money. A little bit crowded at times with many guests and involves lining up for check-in and check-out. It's a little annoying that one has to put a deposit just in case you steal from the mini-bar...untrusting even though they have every form of identification...not good for guest relations...makes the place seem ungracious and second-rate.

Breakfast crowds but that is not the fault of the Hotel but rather of some tour groups going through. Otherwise, Hotel is good value.

What we expected...

by Philipp Lilie from Frankfurt, Germany, 11 Dec 05

Stayed in the Superior Spa Wing! Great clean rooms with modern decoration. Great calm air-condition, not noisy at all and just a little bit to walk to the beach and nightlife.

Exactly what we expected after reading the reviews and seeing the pics. Definetly no disappointment- just a little shame for the hotel to ask my Asian-roots girlfriend 2 times for our room number. A little more respect would be appreciated !!!

Great value, excellent service, not quite ideal location

by Jeffrey Cannon from Atlanta, GA, 20 Dec 05

We had a great stay in the spa wing at the Deevana. The rooms were very tastefully decorated and comfortable with all of the necessary amenities. The pools were both very nice and always very clean and the people were fantastic. The included breakfast more than met our expectations. From the moment we arrived and saw our name on the Marquee welcoming us to the Deevana and we were treated very well by everyone we came in contact with.

The hotel is in a quiet location that isn't right on the beach but within a 10 minute walk. Patong definitely has a hopping nightlife that is easily accessible from the hotel but we found it a little seedy for our taste.

The beach was only mediocre compared to some of the other beaches we visited. We found Karon beach much nicer for a similar size beach with plenty of facilities and people. Nai Harn beach was also quite nice, but smaller and quieter.

For service and value we would definitely recommend the Deevana, although if we were just looking for a relaxing time at the beach I would probably look at a different beach.

Would certainly stay again!

by Tracey Jean Walker from England, 17 Jan 06

Although the hotel is some way from the sea front, this does not really present a problem, as its easy enough to get transport to the beach and this is less important if you plan to go to other beaches on the island which i would recommend.

The room was very clean and has everything you could possibly want. The staff were very helpful and made you feel welcome, although not all speak good English.

I was particularly impressed with the number of swimming pools. The only let down was the gym which was very poor on equipment.

Definitely not again !

by Lam Fung Luen Rita from Hong Kong, 23 Jan 06

Staff was not helpful and unfriendly. I booked 3 rooms, they arranged the 3rd room on a different floor despite our objection and appeal. Seemed under staffed, they were busy on other stuff and preoccupied.

Swimming pool was dirty. Check-out was a nightmare, need to wait for 20 minutes to bring down the luggage to lobby.

AtSiam is fantastic but hotel service needs improvement

by Wee Nee from Singapore, 26 Jan 06

Booking via AtSiam was fast and very simple. Email queries were promptly replied and helpful. Will definitely use this online service again in future.

The hotel rooms were good, except that my toilet was not working properly and even after reporting it twice, it did not help. Receptionists could be more helpful. When they gave me twin rooms instead of double, they told me that they have informed AtSiam, which I called to verify on the spot and was told not so. (They told me to call on my own instead of calling for me.) The receptionist then took my mobile phone and went back room to continue the discussion! They later managed to give me only one queen and the other a twin.
