AtSiam is fantastic but hotel service needs improvement

by Wee Nee from Singapore, 26 Jan 06

Booking via AtSiam was fast and very simple. Email queries were promptly replied and helpful. Will definitely use this online service again in future.

The hotel rooms were good, except that my toilet was not working properly and even after reporting it twice, it did not help. Receptionists could be more helpful. When they gave me twin rooms instead of double, they told me that they have informed AtSiam, which I called to verify on the spot and was told not so. (They told me to call on my own instead of calling for me.) The receptionist then took my mobile phone and went back room to continue the discussion! They later managed to give me only one queen and the other a twin.

Enjoyable stay

by Poon Soon Chien, 30 Jan 06

It was to my surprise that they have 2 swimming pool, and a game center to keep you occupied when you have no where to go. Srongly recommend as a resort to stay in. Worth the money.

Worth your money!

by Julia from Perth, Australia, 31 Jan 06

We had a garden room, which was very simple. It is more a bungalow than a hotel room. The bathroom facilities were very basic but clean. You wouldn’t want to spend all day in the room but to watch a movie at nights and to just sleep there it is good.

The garden is very looked after and I enjoyed walking to the main breakfast area. For breakfast we had a good selection, there was heaps of staff around that made sure you have a clean table very quickly. I liked especially the entrance of the hotel as it got a round about for cars to drop you off / pick up (not a lot of hotels have that in Patong).

Location-wise it might be a bit far off the main action but depending on what you are after you can definitively relax there and it is maybe a 20 minute walk to all the main cafes, bars, shopping etc.

All together, for the price I paid I was very happy.

The WORST SERVICE in the world!!!

by Jaymee Ilagan from Sydney, 10 Feb 06

The place is stunning...........

but.

Behind the beautiful facade lies a lurking horror.

everything looks very nice but we were booked into an unmade room, where the please make up room sign was still on the door, the fridge had been left open for the purpose of defrosting, water was all over the floor. Inside the fridge was a manky old filthy sopping wet thing of a towel. When we requested the room to be fixed the front desk offered no apology, the lady said she would send someone up to the room to fix the problem. The maid came and took the dirty old wet towel out of the fridge and proceeded to mop the floor with it and then left. The floor was still dirty and wet. we rang again, the lady at front desk laughed we requested to speak to the manager, they refused, they said they would send someone up again and no one came.

next

on checking out we left something in the safe. When we got to our next destination in phi phi island village resort and spa (SUPERB) we rang the one of the managers of Deevana and told him our situation. He was uncooperative as he said people had already been booked into that room. After much insistence on our end he relented and said he would ring back in five minutes. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. Forty minutes later we rang him to find out what was happening. He said the maid had left and they were waiting for her to get home to see if she had found it. But why wouldn't she give it to front desk? We asked if he would check the room but he refused as he said people were already checked in. Most people in this situation would not have a problem with the manager checking the safe as long as the situation is explained. He said he would call back. He called back soon after and explained that the checked the room as the current guests had left the room. This is a shocking practice for a hotel to enter someones room without their permission and I imagine quite illegal. Once the manager had pulled the item illegally from the room he said he would send the item that day. This did not happen. His explanation - "I forgot".

Value for money

by Ben from Sydney, Australia, 12 Feb 06

I would recommend this resort to anyone staying in Patong. The resort is set back slightly from the main road, which provides it with a relaxing atmosphere away from the constant noise of busy Patong. The resort is still fairly close to the beach and there are plenty of restaurants near by.

The tuk-tuk and taxi services are stationed just outside the resort, making it very easy to get places if you are not much of a walker.

The resort grounds are beautifully kept and the pool areas are large and attractive.

We stayed in the garden wing bungalows and found them to be everything we expected and clean.

The breakfast in the morning was nice and the service is good. Overall, it is a value for money resort and I would definitely stay there again.

Divine Deevana! Great value, lovely staff.

by Marty from Melbourne, Australia, 20 Feb 06

All good except for the rock hard beds, which get really tiring after a few nights. Staff are wonderful, always smiling and happy, very helpful. The Spa wing rooms are great.

The only downside is it being a bit of a walk from the beach. AtSiam had the best prices we could find anywhere for this Hotel. Excellent Value.

A peace of mind

by Lai Yeo Lian from Malacca, Malaysia., 9 May 06

We can find peaceful and refreshing life when stay at Deevana. It is not located too near to the main street, but yet it's a convenient place to stay.

I enjoyed the small SPA pool, a place where I start to learn snorkeling.

Preferred Choice

by Anonymous User from Southern California, 31 May 06

The street where you get to the hotel is not the most appealing. The street is lined with bars, salons, and tailors shop. Once you get to the hotel, it is exactly like the pictures on this website. The place is just beautiful and exotic. You're welcomed with grape juice and a towels to wipe your hands.

The room was awesome, however the hotel could of given us an extra roll of toilet paper and some extra towels. But, overall the place was awesome. I would stay there again.

Sure we meet again next year

by Anonymous user from Germany, 6 Jun 06

I would recommend this resort to anyone staying in Patong. The hotel is in a quiet location that isn't right on the beach but within a 10 minute walk. Patong definitely has a hopping nightlife that is easily accessible from the hotel The resort is set back slightly from the main road.

I stayed in this hotel for 11 nights, all the staffs there are very nice and helpful. Our Deluxe room (Spa Wing !) was fantastic and the private Jacuzzi was beautiful and very convenient.

Thanks to all at the Deevana for a great stay. Sure we meet again next year.
