Good Service but power Failure killed my joy!

by Cliff Soh from Singapore, 4 Aug 06

We were there on 9th July. We checked in at The Garden Wing. The staffs were very friendly and helpful, however, the room is not very inspiring; yellow stains on the bathroom wall and floor. There were 2 power failure during our 4 nights there. The 1st one started after the Head Butted incident, it last for 2 hours. The 2nd power failure on the 3rd night, this time it lasted for 4 hours. We were not able to sleep well at all. So far have not heard about the power failure from the feedback of other users, I hope I am not the one. Apart from the power failure issue, my stay is still considered good.

Hard Mattress, Lumpy Pillow

by Brian Charles Reynolds from Brisbane, Australia, 13 Aug 06

Beds in the spa wing with a jacuzzi was rather firm. Pillows were lumpy. If they can replace their pillows with firmer foam filled pillows, it would be a significant improvement.

Service was excellent.

MUST STAY - WORTH YOUR $$$

by LIM CHRISTINA from SINGAPORE, 4 Sep 06

Upon Arrival, hotel welcomes you with a Ice Cold hand towel & a welcome drink ... much to our surprise. We booked 2 Deluxe rooms with jacuzzi attached. Hotel was very clean, new & beautiful just like as advertised. Breakfast & location was okay as we rented motorbikes throughout the trip. By Foot, 15 mins walk to Patong Beach, 5mins walk to nearby food stalls which serves excellent seafood @ minimum price.

Only disadvantage-the bathroom shower drainage tends to choke @ every bath, thus was flooding a little, same for both rooms even after service by the hotel crew. Guess it's a common problem with their sewage.

Nonetheless it was a great stay & we enjoyed a very wonderful trip. Will book with "AtSiam" again for their prompt service !!

I'd love to go back

by Dalia from Portugal, 13 Sep 06

Deevana is a great hotel! It is very well located on a quiet area within easy reach to all the great attractions. The Thai decoration is just beautiful and their staff is amazing. They really have the ability to make you feel at home and very comfortable.

Great value for money and certainly an excellent choice in Patong. If you're looking for some very relaxing moments, you should try their spa.

Excellent price, cold jacuzzi

by Brandon from Singapore, 17 Sep 06

The jacuzzi is cold. Would be nice if it came with a heater. Breakfast is OK. The day we checked out we had pre-packed breakfast so this was a plus point for the resort.

Location was pretty bad, cause it was quite a walk from the beach. Wanted to order something from the swim up bar, but the bartender wasn't there. Other than the above, the resort was great. Room was pretty, and has got everything we needed, except toothbrushes.

Worth the value

by Putra1500 from Putrajaya, Malaysia, 18 Sep 06

I just came back from Phuket last week. Stayed at Deevana Patong in Standard Garden Room for 4 days and I got free airport transfer.

What can I say about this hotel is... worth the money and a very good value. It was within my budget. The price for the room is only about 1,100 bath. For 4 days I just paid 3300 Baht and I got free airport transfer (worth 1,200 Baht if you buy it at the airport counter).

The room is very basic, but it had all the facilities that i need. After all this is my first trip to Phuket, and believe me, if you're a first timer, you'll definitely don't want to waste your time in the hotel. Go explore the island. There's many things to do. For me, the room is only for sleep. I went out at the morning and came back to the hotel just for rest or sleep.

Everything else ... Good

What a pleasant surprise!!!

by Cliona, 22 Sep 06

We were really pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Deevana. We could not believe how luxurious our room and the resort was and such excellent value for money (we went in the low season and got a room with a jacuzzi). The pool was huge with a lovely bar and our room was modern, spacious and clean.
The down side is that it is not on the beach but it is within walking distance of downtown Patong (about 10mins right into the centre).

Also our jacuzzi was freezing - much colder than the pool so it was not feasible to sit in it relaxing when the shade hit it.

I would definitely consider going back there!!!!

Excellent choice!

by Syed Sadiq Aljoffri from Singapore, 25 Sep 06

We stayed in the spa wing (Superior) rooms and they are comfortable. It was on the 3rd floor though so it's quite difficult to bring up and down the stroller (request for 2nd floor if you are travelling with babies, first floor are the deluxe rooms only). Breakfast spread is good. Pool is lovely. Staff are very helpful and full of smiles. A really good deal!

Go for it

by Mr Fred Tranter from Australia, 7 Oct 06

For the price this is an excellent value hotel. The pools are great. I recommend the spa room rather than Garden room - its definitely worth a few more dollars. The rooms are very good bright and breezy ... the choice of cable TV is just average.

The only negative is that I have a Thai wife and security is a bit over zealous if she was alone and one staff member had been very rude to her.

There is good food nearby - the location is good. About five minutes to beach and good ten minutes to Bangla Rd. but shops are nearby anyway.

Clean, Cheap and a nice hotel

by Steve Green from Perth, WA, 17 Jan 07

The hotel was a little bit out of the way from the main stretch but within easy walking distance to the beach or B$100 (A$3.00) for a tuktuk ride to the heart of the action.

The rooms were very clean and practical, however the basin only had cold water so it was hard to have a shave, but we managed. You also must remember to buy a can on Mosquito spray as they will eat you alive.

Other than that, the hotel was packed with people, the breakfast was beautiful with an endless selection and the staff around the pools were great.

I would recommend the Deevana to anyone looking for a quiet spot for a very relaxing holiday.
