Tucked away in the middle of everything

by McFarlanes from UK, 11 Aug 07

We spent 2 nights at the Deevana, we had booked a standard room which was a chalet and very small for a family of 4. We enquired straight away about an upgrade and we managed to get a much better room that suited us for an additional 20 Pound.

The new room was on the upper level with a pool view and much lighter. an extra bed was brought up straight away. The pool was a good size with a shallower pool for children.

Deevana is at the end of Patong Beach and tucked in the back which is great to get away from the busy streets, but within a few mins everything is at hand, including laundry and internet just at the back of the hotel and great street food vendors across the road.

The jacuzzi was not so good, dirty and small. The hotel is a big touristic place, and the staff isn't friendly all the time. The breakfast was ok, the rooms were nice and clean, only it didn't had any cosyness. The distance to the beach is ok, only 5 min walk.

In order to improve

by silvia rachiele and vittorio siracusa from italy/milano, Italy, 14 Sep 07

Spa is expensive, you can make more business ... every days I was gone to Let's Relax because the service is better and has a good price ... and in your Spa there is too much could in the massage room .

Your Hotel is simple but lovely and this year was my second time.

Will stay again in the new year

by PAULb from United Kingdom, 14 Sep 07

Like, nice hotel, good pools, food location, quiet but close to the action service

Dislike, guards at front gate, I was with my Thai wife to be, every night for 4 nights she got asked for Id, small problem because you have to pay a joiner fee, a better system should be in order.

With names in guard hut, or diff tag, to let security know you have checked in together.

Altogether tho, a very nice place to stay, no to far to walk to the beach, plenty of food and places to drink, taxi service outside your door

Good hotel, good location

by Vanessa McFarlane from Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom, 29 Sep 07

Deevana Spa was a good hotel in a good location, away from the throng of Patong, but in 5 min walk you could be in the middle of it all.

We did ask to be moved from the chalets which were too small for a family of four to a larger room and this was done immediately and we paid the extra to the hotel. The room was comfortable with the expected basics.

Breakfast was good. And there was a kids pool which is always a bonus.

You could find internet, food stalls, laundry and the beach all within 5-10min walk.

Top of the list

by Anonymous user from Taiwan, 30 Oct 07

Nice location near Patong. Nice room with jacuzzi, but for standard room ... just Ok, nothing exciting. Quiet, relaxing, and easy going. It'll definitely go on the top of my list for my next visit to Phuket.

Plenty happening in patong, will try again

by stephen day from south wales, United Kingdom, 30 Nov 07

The resort is very nice with 3 pools, we stayed in the garden wing, which was a mistake but got on with it, tried to upgrade but resort was full. Would have liked to have stayed more central but will know better next time. Apart from the size of the room, the resort is very nice, we were disappointed after leaving our hotel in Bangkok, and then comparing rooms. If you are fed up with with the hotel food, try Mays next door nice selection and modestly priced.

Great hotel

Excellent location, walking distance to town but far enough to be peaceful. Great breakfast included. Very nice pool. Good quiet aircon in room. Helpful tours desk for trips and transfers. Very helpful staff.

Great Value for money

by Leebee88 from Adelaide Australia, 11 Jan 08

My husband and I stayed at the Deevana Patong Resort & Spa for one night at the end of March 2007, between flights.
We booked the hotel direct from their website and were quite happy with the size of our room and location of the hotel.

We stayed in a Deluxe room with Jacuzzi Pool in the Spa Wing. We arrived at the hotel at 8.30pm and decided to go out for a quick walk into Patong. We were not ready for the heat and after a couple of drinks at a bar on the Beach Rd, we were happy to head back to our Jacuzzi for a cool down with our duty free.

Check In: Smooth and efficient, reception staff very sweet. Paid for room upon arrival with local currency cash.

Service: Helpful and courteous, always a cheery smile from hotel staff even at 1am in the morning as he was delivering a pillow to another guest’s room.

Breakfast: Good, apart from skinny cat hanging around, (one of the many we saw around hotels in Thailand).

Room: Good size, A/C worked well, bathroom had shower only, but no hot water at hand basin for husband’s shave.

Jacuzzi Pool: What a relief from the heat. Even at night, walking around & shopping was very hot & sticky.

Main pool: Looked inviting although we didn’t have time for a swim the next day, nice swim up bar.

We spent 5 nights in Samui after this and would have loved to have had the luxury of returning to the same room (and Jacuzzi) for the next 5 nights we spent in Patong over Easter, unfortunately all Deluxe Jacuzzi Pool rooms were fully booked.
