Patong Lodge Hotel Phuket Reviews & Ratings

Our first trip to Phuket was at Patong where we were placed in Patong lodge, the hotel is set back from the road up a hill. The beach is a couple of minutes walk down the hill to the rocky beach however a 10 minute walk will place you on Patong beach which is 3km length and has golden sands. The night life is also in Patong but still its either a tuk tuk ride which charge whatever they like pending demand but on average 100 Bahts, (EUR1.50) and then you have to get one back. Add that to your day at the beach and thats another EUR3 a day. so EUR6 a day tuk tuk fees. Accommodation was reasonable and the staff were around but not always visible. The rooms at the time were not fitted with satellite tv although there were videos run from the reception till midnight. The food selection was very good but a lot of the visitors chose to eat out.

Our second visit to the Patong lodge 18 months later showed no improvement. A nice clean cheap hotel but don't expect too much.

Great little hotel for the price, worth paying the extra for a pool/sea view. A little way out of town, but great to have an escape from the noise on Bangla road, no problem if you hire a scooter, as the tuk tuks charge at least 200 baht each way into town! Food ok and the service round the pool in the day very welcome.
