Excellent

by Avinash Gupta from India, 19 Jun 06

The hotel was excellent. There was only one problem then the free lockers were should be provided in the room for the safety of our valuables. Otherwise it was a memorable experience for our family.

A stone throw from the beach and yet quiet

by , 11 Sep 06

We really like our stay. The resort is shielded from the road. It was like a world of its own. Yet, it has easy access to the beach.

The room we stayed in was recently renovated. So, everything is new. Our only gripe is the merger 12 channels on TV. Not much to watch at times.

The two swimming pools are big. However, the pool water should be changed more regularly.

Overall, we would give it a 4 out of 5 stars!

Stay at The Patong Resort

by John Dean from UK, 23 Feb 07

Overall our stay at the Patong Resort was a good one. The price of the room was very good. The rooms were ok but I feel the hotel is looking a little tired now. No bad enough to spoil our stay though. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Very well situated for access to the beach and all local amenities. I prefer a room on the ground floor close to pool but that aside I would consider returning to The Patong Resort in the future.

I love Patong Resort!

by L Meehage from England, 18 Jan 07

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Food was very nice, our room was clean and had everything we needed. Hotel has no "funny smell" to it. The staff were friendly and had a great sense of humor! Perfect location for beach, bars, shops and restaurants.

WONDERFUL

by from Aussie, 8 Sep 07

I could not complain, I spent two weeks here, considering it was a 3 star hotel I got a nice surprise. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast beautiful. We got free coupons for a wonderful Japanese dinner as well as cocktail coupons. The pools were clean and beautiful. Location was spot on, in the centre of the town and a 1 min walk to the beach. When you needed to relax a massage by the poolside, so easily drowning out the busy Patong Beach atmosphere.

by ken garner from england, 24 Jun 06

Air condition was not good in the room. Asked for a king sized bed when I made the booking but had to suffer a twin room for 5 nights and then move this is not acceptable.

Gone downhill

by Stuart Somerville from Scotland, 11 Nov 06

I've stayed here twice before and have been quite happy with the hotel. It's got a good location (although not on the beach) and is very quiet considering how centrally located it is. The rooms have always been reasonably priced and even cheap (1,400 Baht for a Deluxe) in low season. On my second stay (in low season) I was even upgraded to a Junior Suite because they'd run out of deluxe rooms with double beds.

My opinion has now changed. Having booked a standard room under the understanding that a double bed was available I found out that this was not the case. I only found this out when I got to the room though, which I was left to find by myself. The problems started when they refused to deal with this. I had to stand at reception and argue with the supervisor for almost an hour before he eventually upgraded me to a deluxe room which had a double bed. And even then the room was as far from the main hotel area as you could get, with building work going on outside, and a leaking air con unit. I wasn't impressed.

The biggest issue I had however was when my girlfriend and I were stopped by security after a night out and I was asked to pay a 'Late Joiner Fee' of 700 Baht. This is apparently a charge the hotel makes if single men bring bar girls back to their room. My girlfriend is Filipina and this idiot decided she must therefore be a bar girl. No apology afterwards either.

I really used to like this hotel, and most of the staff are still very helpful and friendly, but the problems described had such a bad effect on the holiday (only a couple of days away) that I won't be staying here again. Shame.

Reasonable Place to Stay

by A Rahman from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 29 Jul 08

Stayed in Standard room for 3 nights in July 2008- comfy but unattractive view, need to keep curtains closed.

Disappointed that at such hotel rate and standard, there is no coffee/tea maker facilities, hair dryer and b/room slippers but hotel provided 2 bottles of drinking water each day and hot water/hair dryer available on request. B'fast adequate but halal food is limited since pork is also served & share same kitchen. Courteous & helpful staff.

Good location with quiet environment - walking distance to the beach, JungCeylon Mall and Bang La Rd. A number of halal Indian/Arabic/Thai restaurants along the way. There is also a halal Indian Food eateries at the Mall food court. On our last day, found a cheap and tasty halal Thai/Malay food eateries on the 1st. floor of a market complex opposite Carrfour.

Good place for guest with children esp. if 2nd swimming pool repairs are completed.

Not a good value for money

by amitbanwari from New delhi, India, 16 Feb 06

Rooms smelly.. some strange odor either of carpet or fish don't know. Will not recommend. Do not have a kettle in room for hot water. Every time it had to be asked if we needed hot water. Location is good.
