I'll be back

by Jamie from Scotland, 7 Jun 05

Friendly helpful staff, who always made you feel welcome throughout the stay. Was greeted with a complimentary drink on arrival. There was almost a family atmosphere as the staff remembered your name throughout. Facilities more than adequate. Rooms were clean and well maintained.

Great staff

by jeffrey from USA, 21 Mar 06

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The garden and pool area were kept in great condition. Nice restaurant with a large breakfast buffet. The location was an easy 2 minute stroll to the beach and about 5 minutes to Bangla road.

Wireless internet in the rooms at a very nominal fee. Only negative was the lighting in the rooms and bathrooms was not very good.

An Oasis in Paradise

by Randy Moore from Dallas, TX, 24 Jun 05

This was our first visit to Phuket. We were very pleased with Salathai Resort. The resort is like an Oasis amongst all of the hussel and bussel of an exciting Island Paradise. We were initially wanting to stay at a hotel on the beach , but the beauty of the resort and proximity of the resort to the sea and all of the island activity made up for the lack of the beach view.

The resort accommodated all of our needs. We will stay here again on our next visit.

Excellent value for money

by Mr. Stewart Forrest from United Kingdom, 9 Feb 06

From the moment we entered the reception until the time of checking out all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was well equiped, modern and spotlessly clean.

Overall the Salathai offered excellent value for money. I would stay there again.

Definitely will return again and again

by Alan Sherman from Tokyo Japan and San Francisco, CA, 15 Dec 05

The hotel had a car waiting for me at the airport and took me straight to the hotel. My bags were handled professionally and check in was a breeze. I was in my room within moments. Great location poolside, air conditioning already turned on and the room was spotless.

The staff was quick and courteous with every request from recommending dining to booking trips.

The location was also perfect. A quiet street off the beaten path yet only a quick 5 minute walk to all the action. There also was no guest charge and they treated guests with due respect.

Breakfast buffet was complete, service was good and the food was tasty.

I will definitely return here again and highly recommend this hotel to my friends.

A small, clean and quite boutique hotel but staff not so friendly

by Angela from Singapore, 24 Jan 06

A group of 9 of us were there between 12 Jan to 15 Jan 06. Since it is a boutique hotel my overall impression is that it is quite acceptable. However, besides one or two staff that were helpful, the rest were not so helpful. Especially one of the Restaurant Manager who refused to join tables for us so we can have our breakfast as a group. He insisted that we take our breakfast in 2 separate tables. This really did not give me a good impression of the hotel staff. I will not return to this hotel since it has given such bad impression.

Great value, comfortable clean rooms, 1 min to beach.

by Cindy Q from Singapore, 8 Nov 05

A boutique hotel. Staff ranged from polite but poor in English to very pleasant, friendly and fluent. You have to order the breakfast La Carte style, you get one choice of eggs (very fresh) with ham/ sausage dish or porridge. Other items you can order more if you like. The banana pancakes were good. Juice and toast included.

We had 2 deluxe rooms, one upgraded to Junior Suite. We liked the deluxe room better as it had a bigger bathroom and a bathtub. Cleanliness of both very good. Hotel staff helped us find an adapter for our phone charger to borrow, very smiley and pleasant. Toiletries are very basic. Coffee and tea in room with kettle for hot water.

Beach/pool towels provided, changed daily. Some quite worn but clean. 3 stories high, our junior suite was on the 3rd and I found it comfortable to climb still. Bed was very comfortable but it was queen instead of 2 twins.

Walk out hotel to the corner, takes seconds to get to beach road, cross it and you are on the beach.

We got a great rate 1,250 Baht for the deluxe but I see prices have risen now.

will stay there again if i ever go back to phuket!

by helen from singapore, 31 Aug 05

Love this place, nice rooms. Small and nice pool but who needs the pool when you've got the sea??

People at reception were real friendly and helpful to us even though we only stayed for the 1st and last night there during our 5 days trip =P

Only downside was the restaurant. It was horrible .. rock lobster looks like shrimps .. taste wasn't all that good either .. but breakfast was nice .. love the banana pancakes =P

Wonderful hotel

by DAVID WALDEN from Guernsey, UK, 5 Jun 06

The Salathai is a fantastic small hotel in a great location with very friendly staff. I will stay there again if the price doesn't go up too much when people catch on to this fabulous hotel.

Great Hotel

by Cindy from Los Angeles, CA, USA, 15 Jun 06

The staff were so helpful and kind and I was completely happy with the accommodations in every way. Beautiful pool area and open air dining room. An elevator would have been nice when moving the luggage around but the staff was happy to carry the heavier pieces for us. I would stay there again.
