Great value, great service!

by G.L. Wilcox from RI, United States, 2 Oct 07

This is an excellent boutique resort, with a good location and a staff who cannot do enough for their guests. A new feature is the breakfast cooked to order - no buffet, included in the affordable room rate. I will continue to return to the Salathai Resort during my visits to Patong.

When you're on a good thing stick to it.

by Russedll Hardaker from Sydney Australia, 16 Sep 06

I, fortunately was one of the first customers at the Salathai Resort in 1999. The resort just keeps on getting better which is why I still go there at least twice per year. I knew a few of the staff from their previous resort employment and now work at the Salathai, much to my approval. The Manager, Suphattra, is the most respected and well liked person at the Salathai. Nothing, I repeat, nothing, seems to be as problem for her and her sisters, who also work at the Resort. The meals are well above average, as can be seen by the clientele dining each night. Good on you Salathai, see you in December

Looks can be deceiving!

by Sabrina from Malaysia, 22 Aug 06

Having stayed in many hotels all around the world, I must say that I was absolutely appalled with the treatment I received while staying at this Resort. No doubt we made a mistake with the booking, but we were not informed what was the maximum number of people allowed per room.

Nevertheless, that is no excuse for the way we were treated. One staff actually walked off while we were in the middle of a conversation with him; another female staff yelled at my friends that they had to leave the key at the reception; we were purposely treated badly during breakfast where we had to order our food and drinks no less than 5 times and we were ignored by the staff even when we tried to be friendly to them!!

Other than that, they were so stingy when we asked for extra towels. This is without a doubt the worst hotel I’ve stayed in and you can be assured that me and my friends will never visit this hotel again!

Pleasant stay

by Kornkamol Lotrakul from Bangkok, 26 Jun 06

Very good resort locate at Patong beach. Only 5 minute walk to middle of Patong shopping area. very nice room, clean and comfortable as much as you ever imagine of. Excellent value for the money.

Because it locate on the busy street, it quite difficult to locate the hotel on your first time to check-in

Great Hotel

by Cindy from Los Angeles, CA, USA, 15 Jun 06

The staff were so helpful and kind and I was completely happy with the accommodations in every way. Beautiful pool area and open air dining room. An elevator would have been nice when moving the luggage around but the staff was happy to carry the heavier pieces for us. I would stay there again.

Wonderful hotel

by DAVID WALDEN from Guernsey, UK, 5 Jun 06

The Salathai is a fantastic small hotel in a great location with very friendly staff. I will stay there again if the price doesn't go up too much when people catch on to this fabulous hotel.

Great staff

by jeffrey from USA, 21 Mar 06

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The garden and pool area were kept in great condition. Nice restaurant with a large breakfast buffet. The location was an easy 2 minute stroll to the beach and about 5 minutes to Bangla road.

Wireless internet in the rooms at a very nominal fee. Only negative was the lighting in the rooms and bathrooms was not very good.

Excellent value for money

by Mr. Stewart Forrest from United Kingdom, 9 Feb 06

From the moment we entered the reception until the time of checking out all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was well equiped, modern and spotlessly clean.

Overall the Salathai offered excellent value for money. I would stay there again.

A small, clean and quite boutique hotel but staff not so friendly

by Angela from Singapore, 24 Jan 06

A group of 9 of us were there between 12 Jan to 15 Jan 06. Since it is a boutique hotel my overall impression is that it is quite acceptable. However, besides one or two staff that were helpful, the rest were not so helpful. Especially one of the Restaurant Manager who refused to join tables for us so we can have our breakfast as a group. He insisted that we take our breakfast in 2 separate tables. This really did not give me a good impression of the hotel staff. I will not return to this hotel since it has given such bad impression.
